BCM325 – PITCH PRESENTATION COMMENTS

“Love this concept, seems like a really cool way of helping people who are disabled/impaired.

Just wondering how you’re going to bring this concept closer to a practical application?

It may be worth looking into and exploring how bats use sonar to hunt pray at night, and maybe using a software like 3DSmax or After Effects and seeing if it’s at all possible to simulate a rough concept of how it works?

Really cool idea, really dope hat, really solid guy.”

With this pitch presentation, the presenter had a very interesting and solid subject matter and idea. His pitch effectively looked to the future and presented an interesting idea and vision about the future of medical aid. The only problem was that his pitch lacked any practical way that he himself was going to conceptualise or create the piece that he proposed. It was in question whether he would be creating a prototype of the piece he wanted to make, a VR simulation or a video/podcast on the subject. I encouraged him to look into making some kind of simulation to bring his idea closer to reality.

“Hey Susie,

Love your choice of topic and content. How you’ve explained yourself in the video is clear and concise.

I’m wondering if it would also be worth exploring, from a fashion product makers perspective, whether there would be any difficulties in ensuring that 100% of your products are sustainable at all times, and whether it would be worth touching on both sides of the debate.

It may also be worth looking into, if you were to go down the podcast route, inviting guests, maybe fellow fashion product makers and designers on to the podcast, this will make it more interesting, draw a wider audience through crossposting, and make podcasting less of a struggle for filling out an hour of content.

I would also recommend maybe setting up a facebook page for your business (if you don’t have one already, maybe I couldn’t find it haha), and running facebook ads to reach a wider audience.

Keep up the great work, you make dope stuff!”

This person had a really solid interesting idea, and coming from a background of working within the industry related to what she wanted to pursue as a subject matter, she was further advantaged in that she had firsthand experience. I encouraged her to look into expanding her reach through facebook, and perhaps considering inviting guests onto her podcasts to make them more interesting.

“Hey,

I love that you’ve put so much effort into animating your pitch haha.

You’ve chosen a really uniquely interesting subject matter. I’m just wondering if doing all videos, blogs and podcasts may be too much work on your end and that you may be spreading yourself too thin, maybe consider focusing on one content outlet instead of three.

You maybe should also consider looking at costs, timelines (as in how long off is this technology from becoming mainstream) and whether this would be a viable alternative to current gaming in the future.

Looking forward to your project, can’t wait to see how it works out!”

This person wanted to do their project on the future of gaming and if there would be the possibility of direct brain implants for immersive gaming in the future. She plans to do this through blogs, podcasts and videos, I encouraged her to maybe focus on one type of content outlet instead of three to ensure quality over quantity.
